Hello! I am Dr. Donna. I am a wellness coach and nurse practitioner specializing in prevention and wellness. Welcome to my new blog. I will be posting regularly to share my specialized knowledge about health and wellness on how to prevent chronic disease and / or how to reverse disease.


Over 2000 years Virgil was noted to have said “Health is wealth”. In 1860 American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote "The first wealth is health,” What are your thoughts about health? How do you value your family and your health?


Research has confirmed that prevention is essential for the best great quality of life and longevity. This blog will discuss areas of wellness with an emphasis on mindset, nutrition, accountability, exercise, and rest. Appropriate mindset is crucial when we want to make changes in our lives. Different types of exercise are essential for best health. For example, did you know that walking 8000 steps 1- 2 days a week lowers your risk of dying from heart disease (Inoue, et al., 2023). Practicing wellness will lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and decrease the suffering for those with these chronic diseases. Making even very small changes can improve your health.


Beside my focus on wellness, I divide my time between my family, hiking, knitting, and traveling.
